Show Car Pics FAQ
Is the name of this site Show Car Pics or Show Car Pix?
Both names work ... we have the URL for both domain names. Originally the PIX name was used but it tended to conflict with another site at the time so the PIC name has been used since then.
How about some info on Navigation ...
That has been done, with a new page about navigating through the photos placed on the Main Menu, where it's easy to find.
Why the super huge photo sizes?
Big photos seem to make the cars look more alive and ready to jump off the page. It's like being at the show again ... even if your monitor does not display the largest sizes completely, you might find it worthwhile to give them a trial run.
Later on some even larger sizes might be added, as monitors get bigger and bigger.
Do you display photos uploaded by users?
Not at this time, as we don't have an automated way to do that. But it's an interesting idea and if a car club or group of people wanted to put together a package of their best car photos, say a maximum of 250 photos, and send them in on a CD, we could probably work out a no-cost way to display them. Use the Contact Form if you want to discuss this idea.
It seems you do not "fix" photos, leaving all kinds of stuff in them.
That's correct ... it takes a lot of time to tinker with photos so we just skip those with too many faces or too much junk in them, that would eat up a lot of time to fix, and go on to the next picture.
One the upside, leaving everything in the photo contributes to more of a "car show" experience, something like being back at the show again.
